Suburban train services hit as commuters agitate

Chennai, July 11 (UNI) Suburban EMU train services on the busy Chennai Central and Arakkonam Section were disrupted for nearly an hour when commuters staged a snap agitation protesting change of timings.

Railway Police sources told UNI here the commuters angered over the change of timings, blocked the trains at Arakkonam and Tiruvallur and shouted slogans against the Railway Department.

They alleged the change of timings had put them to hardship as office-goers could not reach workplace in time.

Senior officials pacified the agitators and the train services resumed after an hour's delay.
