Smack worth Rs 14 lakh seized, one arrested

New Delhi, July 11 (UNI) Swooping down on capital's drug peddlars, police seized smack worth Rs 14 lakh and arrested one person from Seelampur area of East Delhi.

Tilak Nagar resident 26-year-old Dinesh Kumar was arrested from Jafrabad in Seelampur yesterday following a tip-off, according to the police.

Concealed in a polythene packet, 140 grams smack worth Rs 14 lakh in the international market, was seized from him.

An eighth class dropout Dinesh works as a medicine supplier in Tilak Nagar.

In another incident, police seized 2,220 bottles of illicit liqour and arrested two persons from Vasant Kunj area of South Delhi.

The bottles, kept in 15 cartons, were being transported in a car by one Virender and Dinesh Kumar.
