Short film commerating 7/11 blast victims screened in Mumbai

Mumbai, July 11 (UNI) City-based interior designer and model maker Manoj Govekar has organised an audio-video road show here in memory of the blast victims, who were killed in the July 11 last year's serial train bomb blasts.

Govekar's company Art Futuristic Creations, which is showcasing the eight-minute documentary on the worst train carnage to have occured in contemperory India, took two months to script the film.

The documentary was screened as part of a road show at Plaza Cinema, Shivaji Mandir, Shiv Sena Bhavan, Shivaji Park in Dadar and concluded at Citylight in Matunga.

''This documentary is our tribute to the people who lost their lives. It took us two months to make the film. We will halt at each stop for 15 minutes and will conclude by 2200 hours,'' Govekar in an exclusive chat told UNI about his plans.

He said ''The film highlights the richness of ancient India as 'Sone Ki Chidiya' (a golden sparrow) in the world. After that, I have shown the colonial rule, creation of Pakistan and the subsequent wars over the sovernigty of Jammu and Kashmir.'' The major aspect of Govekar's film is the birth of insurgency or proxy war against India by Pakistan after its successive failure in war and the misguided grooming of militants to target the whole of India.

''The serial blasts of 1993 and 7/11 blasts are a result of the shelter provided by Pakistan to terrorists to carry out anti-India activities. At the end, I have given some tips on how to prevent acts of terror and the precautions to be taken by the citizens,'' he said.

Govekar is a renowned model maker, set and interior designer and has a vast experience in the field of art direction. He has contributed his artistic talent to Bollywood films such as 'Lagaan', 'Devdas' and 'Hum Kissi Se Kam Nahi'.

The recent acknowledgement by the Government of India of his documentary on AIDS awareness was a major turning point in the arena of social issues and an achievement in his illustrious career.
