Rs 67 lakh project approved for Kashmir Martyrs Park

Srinagar, July 11 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government has approved a Rs 67 lakh project for the construction of a Martyrs Park near central jail here.

The park will be constructed in memory of 22 Martyrs of 1931.

The work on the memorial park has already been started today, an official spokesman told UNI.

Twenty two Kashmirs were killed by Dogra police in 1931 outside the central Jail Srinagar.

The day is being celebrated across the Kashmir valley and the main function is being held at Martyrs grave ward Naqashband Shaib in the downtown.
