Mumbai, July 11 (UNI) Rotary Club of Bombay, Bandra has organised a fund raiser for underpriviledged cancer kids by staging the premier show of the hilarious play ''Aasman se gire, Khajur pe atke'' on July 28 at the Manik Sabhagruha here.

Addressing the media last evening, a spokesperson from the Rotary Club said, ''The Rotary Club of Bombay, Bandra is helping young children from the poorest sections of society afflicted with cancer by associating with Dr. Borges Home at Bandra. The home is a Rehabilitation Centre for such children who come to Mumbai from rural areas for treatment with very less/no resources. The fund raiser is a step in that direction.'' ''We have also donated a Lamination Machine to make the Artificial Limbs worth Rs 1.25 lakhs,'' he added.

The play is presented by Ek Prayas and debutant Director and Writer Navin Bawa. Speaking on the occasion he said, ''Aasman se gire, Khajur pe atke'' is a glorious tangle of half truths and double lies. It has tour-de-force performances by lead actors. The play is an edgy, electrifying story of greed, corruption, ambition, trust, betrayal and loyalty -- in a world of love and desperation gone dangerously wrong.'' The star cast includes veterens like Bollywood actress Padmini Kolhapure, Naveen Bawa and Shakti Kapoor. The music director of the play is Utpal Sharma.
