RINL signs agreement with BHEL for turbo blowers

New Delhi, July 11 (UNI) The Visakhapatnam-based public sector company Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL) today signed a Contract Agreement with another Public Sector Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) for supply and erection of Turbo Blower required for supplying air for combustion in the Blast Furnace.

According to a RINL statement issued here, BHEL is executing the contract along with their consortium partner M/s ManTurbo of Germany.

While the main Blower is under the scope of ManTurbo, the Turbine will be manufactured at their Hyderabad office by BHEL. The capacity of the blower is 4,18,000 Normal Cubic Metre/hour and shall consume power of about 40 Megawatts.

The cost of the project is Rs 107 crores and will be executed within 27 months to match with the commissioning of Blast Furnace which was already ordered on Paulwurth, Italy and Larsen and Tubro Consortium and is already under execution.

Mr A K Banerjee, ED (Projects), Fritz and Mr Prakash Vir signed the agreement on behalf of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, ManTurbo and BHEL, respectively today at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
