Reliance among fastest climbers in Fortune Global 500

New Delhi, July 11 (UNI) Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) ranked 23rd amongst the 25 fastest climbers in the Fortune Global 500 list to be announced in the United States later today.

Reliance Industries ranked 269 on sales while on profits it bagged the 179th rank which is the highest among Indian companies. It was ranked 299 on assets, 190 on stockholders equity and 350 on employees.

RIL has moved up 73 places in the rankings on sales, having been placed at 342 in last years list.

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) is the highest ranked Indian company - in terms of sales it is ranked 135 while on net profits IOC ranked 249. It ranked 380 on assets, 304 on stockholders equity and 364 on employees.

The other Indian companies in the list are BPCL (ranked 325) in sales, HPCL-336, ONGC-369 and SBI-495.
