Pondy: Student killed as bike tyre bursts

Puducherry, July 11: A third year student of a private engineering college here was killed and another injured in an accident at Ariyur near here yesterday.

According to police, K Giridhar Raja (21) of Manjakuppam in Cuddalore District of Tamil Nadu was returning home from college last evening on a motorcycle along with his friend Jude Edwin of Lawspet here.

When they reached Ariyur,the front tyre burst causing the accident.

Both of them sustained injuries and were admitted to the government general hospital here where Girdhar Raja died today.

Edwin's condition was still serious, police said.
