The arrest followed the violent incident in which a vehicle belonging to the police department was set on blaze and villagers blocked the roads preventing police to enter into the village to remove the bodies of those killed in the incident.

Later the police managed to remove the dead bodies from the scene which were taken to Chickmagalur district hospital for conducting post-mortem after disbursing the defiant people using canes.

According to Chickmagalur report, the post-mortem of two extremists, killed in yesterday's incident, was completed but no one came forward to claim the bodies.
