More courts to be set-up for clearance of pending cases

Patna, July 11 (UNI) With a view to clearing backlog of cases, the Bihar government today decided to set up more additional sessions courts in the state.

The state cabinet gave its nod in this regard during a meeting this afternoon, said cabinet secretary Girish Shankar. The additional sessions court would be set up in Patna City and in Arariya, he added.

'' A permanent post of Additional district and sessions judge had been created in Patna City and Araria,'' he said.

'' The cabinet also enhanced the exemption limit of the court fees to be paid by Scheduled Castes(SCs) and Scheduled Tribes(STs) from Rs 6000 to Rs 25,000'', Mr Shankar said adding that Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes having annual income less than Rs 25000 would not have to pay court fee for registrations.

He said that the cabinet also decided to give its nod to clear backlogs of the examinations of the Bihar Public Service Commission and of the state Staff Selection Commission.
