Meghalaya: 53 persons injured in bus mishap

Shillong, July 11: At least 53 people were injured when an overcrowded bus fell into a gorge at Lad Sohlanger area in Meghalaya's Ri-Bhoi district today.

The bus was proceeding towards Nongpoh from Umsaw Nongbri village.

District Deputy Commissioner S F Khongwir said the accident occurred at 0830 hrs after the driver lost control over the bus.

Mr Khongwir said all the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital.
