KPCC leader alleges people suffering from fever-related problems
Kottayam, July 11 (UNI) KPCC General Secretary Joseph Vazhakkan today alleged a majority of the people in the Central Travancore Area were affected by problems related to viral fever and the situation was alarming.
Mr Vazhakkan told newspersons here, the government and political parties should adopt immediate steps to resolve the problem.
An all-party delegation under the leadership of the Chief Minister should visit the affected areas to make an on-the-spot evaluation, he said.
Help must be sought from the Centre and WHO to evolve short and long-term measures to contain the epidemic.
Though the viral fever subsided after a week, people were bedridden due to joint pains, swelling, itching and other side effects.
The cause of the fever was not known and doctors could not say when people would get cured.
Mr Vazhakkan said free ration should be given to all the affected avoiding all formalities.
