Injustice to northern region will be rectified: Kumaraswamy
Bangalore, July 11 (UNI) The opposition Congress today succeeded in securing an assurance from Chief Minister H D Kumarswamy in the Karnataka Assembly on opening more schools and colleges in Northern Karnataka.
Some Congress members staged a dharna in the well of the house in protest against the injustice caused to the northern districts over sanctioning of schools and colleges. This forced Speaker Krishna to adjourn the house for a brief period.
Later Mr Kumaraswamy assured the Congress members that the injusrice would be corrected when the second list for sanctioning of schools and colleges was taken up.
Mr Basavaraj Rayareddy (Congress) had raised the query in the House during the Question Hour on the issue.
