Injustice to northern region will be rectified: CM
Bangalore, July 11 (UNI) The Opposition Congress today succeeded in securing an assurance from Chief Minister H D Kumarswamy in the Karnataka Assembly on opening more schools and colleges in Northern Karnataka.
Some Congress members staged a dharna in the well of the House in protest against the 'injustice caused' to the northern districts over sanctioning of schools and colleges.
This forced Speaker Krishna to adjourn the house for a brief period.
Later, Mr Kumaraswamy assured the Congress members the injustice would be corrected when the second list for sanctioning of schools and colleges was taken up.
Mr Basavaraj Rayareddy (Cong) had raised the query in the House during the Question Hour on the issue.
