Housewife attempts suicide in Police Commissionerate office premises
Aurangabad, July 11 (UNI) Disappointed over the police inaction in redressing her complaint, a 38-year-old housewife attempted to commit suicide by consuming poison in the Police Commissionerate premises here.
The victim, Babita Narawade, a resident of Bajajnagar, was admitted to the government medical hospital yesterday, where she was reported to be out of danger.
According to police sources, Babita had a love marriage with Kakasaheb 15 years ago and had been staying at Bajajnagar. However, due to some reasons, Kakasaheb started staying with his parents at Brijwadi.
Babita tried to settle the matter so as to bring Kakasaheb back to their home but could not succeed due to non-cooperation from her in-laws.
On July 4, Babita lodged a complaint with the police against her husband for not leading a married life and against her in-laws for harrassing her.
Two days ago, she informed the police that her husband was going to marry for the second time. However, the police failed to entertain her complaint.
Fed up of the police apathy towards her grievances, Babita reached the CP office at 1230 hrs yesterday and consumed poison in front of the policemen. The police immediately admitted her to the government medical hospital here.
A case of attempted suicide was registered against Babita, while cases were also registered against the father-in-law, mother-in-law and two brothers-in-law as per the complaint by the victim. The accused have been arrested finally.
