Heavy water discharge from Alamatti Dam

Gulbarga, Karnataka, July 11 (UNI) Due to heavy inflows into the Alamatti Dam, as much as 2.53 lakh cusec of water was released to the downstream Narayanpur Project.

Alamatti Superintendent Engineer Ugranarashimiah said since the reservoir was almost full, the water was being discharged to the down stream. The water level stood at 516.06 metre as against the full capacity of 519 metre.

At Narayanpur Project, the inflow was 2.03 lakh cusec and the discharge was two lakh cusec. In the Bhima river, the inflow was 23,000 cusecs.

Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed in Bidar, Gulbarga and Raichur.

There has been no rain for the last seven days.
