HCL with KM to open offshore development centre at Chennai

Mumbai, July 11 (UNI) IT major HCL Technologies Ltd today announced the opening of an offshore development centre at Chennai, in association with Konica Minolta Group (KM).

Through this centre, HCL will provide software services to KM's multi function peripherals (MFPs), printers and medical equipment business lines. The services provided by the company will support the Japanese language in order to communicate with KM's researchers, a HCL release said here today.

According to HCL, for the service, it has signed a contract with KM for 3 years, which is further extendable thereafter every year, under which the 5 business companies of KM will outsource product engineering work to HCL.

Presently for Konica Minolta Medical and Graphics Inc (KMMG), HCL is developing, maintaining, globally supporting and performing research and development for the application and embedded software of their computed radiography (CR) product line. While with Konica Minolta Business Technologies Inc (KMBT), HCL will be developing, maintaining and performing R&D for the application and embedded software of their complete range of MFPs and printers, the release added.
