Mumbai, July 11 (UNI) City Civil and Sessions Judge Ashok Bhangale today upheld the revision application of the Anti Extortion Cell (AEC) seeking cancellation of bail granted to mafia fugitive Dawood Irabhim's sister Haseena Parkar in an extortion case.

While passing the order, Judge Bhangale said the revision application filed by AEC sleuth was ''maintainable''. He asked the metropolitan court to furnish all the original documents, maintained at the time of bail hearings, and then reserved the final order for July 17. After going through the metropolitan court's documents, the court would pass the final order.

On May 24, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate V K Sharma had granted bail to Parkar who was booked in a forgery and extortion case.

According to prosecution she had threatened Vinod Avalani, an estate agent, and had refused to pay back his Rs 30 lakh which was paid to two builders for implementing a slum re-development project.

Meanwhile, AEC sleuths have filed another affidavit in the court stating that Haseena Parkar was involved in another Slums Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) project case, registered recently at the Vakola police station. Some of her close relatives had threatened the promotor of the Vakola SRA project, according to the AEC.
