Four damaged coaches to be back on tracks in 2 months: WR
Mumbai, July 11 (UNI) The four coaches that were damaged in the suburban train blasts on July 11 last year will be back on tracks in the next two months, Western Railway (WR) General Manager A K Jhingron said today.
Speaking to reporters after the re-run of the 1824 hrs suburban service with the refurbished first class coach, which had got damaged due to the blast last year on the same day, Mr Jhingron said the WR wanted these coaches to be run today itself. But due to the ongoing rerfurbishing work on them, it could not be made possible.
''We ran this coach specially on this day as we want to show the destructive forces that terrorism has never deterred us from our committment towards the countrymen,'' he said.
He said after the series of blasts last year, the WR has taken a slew of security-related measures including installation of close-circuit TVs at major stations.
