Drunk magistrate suspended for ticketless travel
Jabalpur, July 11 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh High Court today suspended a magistrate posted in Barwani district for ticketless travelling while under the influence of liquor.
''Registrar-General K C Sharma received a complaint of this nature against Magistrate Vijay Singh. A Vigilance team probed the matter and submitted a report to Chief Justice Anang Kumar Patnaik,'' Registrar-General (Vigilance) Tarun Kumar Kaushal said here.
The complaint, lodged by the Railway, said that on July 8 Mr Singh consumed liquor with his clerk in the Howrah Mail's pantry car. When staff asked them to display their tickets, Mr Singh described himself as a judge posted in Hoshangabad and misbehaved with the staff.
