Centre grants funds to Kerala, Karnataka, HP, J

New Delhi, July 11 (UNI) The Centre has granted Rs 22 crore to Karnataka and Rs 10 crore to Kerala under Swarn Jayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojna while Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir have also received funds for rural development project.

The Ministry of Rural Development has released first instalment of its share of Rs 10.14 crore for implementation of SGSY during 2007-2008 for 14 DRDAs of Kerala.

It has also granted first instalment of Central share of funds amounting to Rs. 22.60 crore under SGSY to 27 DRDAs of Karnataka.

Himachal Pradesh has also been given grant-in- aid of Rs. 1.23 crore to eleven districts towards balance payment of first instalment of Central share for the year 2007-2008 The ministry has also released Rs 88 lakh to seven DRDAs of Jammu&Kashmir towards balance payment of 1st instalment of Central share.
