Bank official commits suicide

Varanasi, July 11 (UNI) A bank official allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison in the neighbouring Chandauli district today.

Diwan Mohsin Khan (59), field officer of Uttar Pradesh Sahkari Gram Vikas Bank, resorted to the extreme step inside his office, police said.

He was rushed to the district hospital where the doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Hailing from neighbouring Azamgarh district, Khan is suspected to have committed suicide due to sustained non-cooperation and undue pressure by bank manager Satish Barnwal in official matters.

The body had been sent for post-mortem and further investigations were on.
