Attack on three youths, tension at Nasik road
Nashik, July 11 (UNI) Tension prevailed in Nashik road area of the city late last night after a lethal attack on three youths.
Three youths, Shyam Khole, Nitin alias Bunty Aher and Yogesh Chavan were attacked by 7-8 unidentified men, when they were engaged in a conversation, police said today.
The attack took place outside the Shiv Sena and Surbhai Social Group offices in Kholemala area on the artillary centre road. Khole and his friends were attcked with swords, axes and a wooden batton.
They received severe injuries on their head, neck, ear and hands.
The attackers fled from the spot and the injured trio were admitted to Jairam hospital at Nasik road by local residents.
The news of the attack on Khole created tension in the area. Many activists gathered at the hospital, some incidents of minor stone pelting took place at Mukti Dham and Nasik Road railway station area. Police have increased vigil at the Jairam hospital, railway station, Deolaligaon, Kholemala and Bitco chowk areas.
The victim, Khole, had previously been booked in the recent attack on Shiv Sena district president Datta Gaikwad's office.
Following this, Khole had been expelled from the Shiv Sena.
Deputy Police Commissioner A C Trambake, senior PI Prakash Saindane and PI K D Katkar are looking into the matter.
Meanwhile, police today registered a case under section 307, 143 147, 148 149 and 135 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
However, no arrests have been made so far.
Meanwhile, a delegation led by Shiv Sena corporator Bhaiyya Maniyar, MNS corporator Ramesh Dhongade met deputy police commsioner Trumbake and other police officials today. The delegation would also meet police commissioner S M Sayyad to demand the speedy arrest of the culprits.
