AP raises loan amount for farmers
Hyderabad, July 11 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said loans to farmers from cooperative credit societies has been raised to Rs 2400 crore during this Kharif season.
According to an official release here, reviewing the functioning of the cooperative credit structure and cooperation department with the officials concerned here, Dr Reddy said the government had decided to provide 25 per cent of these loans to new borrowers.
Announcing that the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for the pulses would be raised to Rs 2,000 per quintal from Rs 1750 during this season, he allowed the cooperative department to rationalise the existing staff in the Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS).
