AP Govt renews insurance scheme for Journalists

Hyderabad, July 11 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government would renew the Medi-claim policy in collaboration with the United India Insurance Company for the benefits of Journalists in the State for the fourth consecutive year.

Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journlists here today urged the journalists to send in their applications by August one.

Last year, more than 3770 journalists availed the scheme under which they were provided coverage for self, spouse and two children upto Rs one lakh for medical treatment on payment of a subsidised premium of Rs 780.

The journalists will be covered for Rs one lakh in case of death in an accident, APUWJ President K Amarnath said in a release here tonight.
