WR cancels trains due to heavy rains
Ahmedabad, July 10 (UNI) The Western Railway (WR) authorities today said they had cancelled five trains and terminated five trains in various sections of Rajkot, Bhavnagar and Ahmedabad divisions due to heavy rains and water logging there.
9221 Ahmedabad-Veraval Express leaving Ahmedabad today was cancelled, as also 9222 Veraval-Ahmedabad Expresss leaving Veraval and 2479 Jodhpur-Bandra Express leaving Jodhpur today was cancelled, a WR release said here.
1464/1466 Jabalpur-Veraval Express will be terminated at Rajkot and will be reversed as 1463/1465 ex Rajkot-Jabalpur.
With heavy water logging between Himmatnagar-Khedbrahma section metre gauge track in Ahmedabad division, the trains have been terminated.
They are: 428 Ahmedabad-Khedbrahma fast passanger which on July 10 will run up to Himmatnagar and be reversed as 427 Khedbharma- Ahmedabad fast passanger ex Himmatnagar to Ahmedabad.
430 Ahmedabad-Khedbharma fast passanger on July 10 will run up to Himmatnagar and reversed as 429 Khedbharma-Ahmedabad fast passanger on July 11 ex-Himmatnagar to Ahmedabad.
The release also said 2479 Jodhpur-Bandra Express, 9224 Jammutabi- Ahmedabad Exp, 6126 Jodhpur-Channai Exp, 1089 Jodhpur-Pune Exp, 2477 Jamnagar-Jammutabi Exp were running late.
As a result of the breeches in Mehsana-Taranga hill metre gauge section of Ahmedabad division, following trains have been cancelled/ terminated.
606 Mahesana-Taranga Hill, schedule departure at 1840 hrs, ex- Mahesana on July 10, was cancelled, 601 Taranga Hill-Mahesana, schedule departure at 0400 hrs, ex-Taranga Hill on July 11, was cancelled.
Similarly, 602 Mahesana-Taranga Hill on July 11 will run up to Kheralu and will be reversed as 603 Taranga hill-Mahesana, ex-Kheralu to Mahesana, 604 Mahesana-Taranga hill DMU on the same day will run up to Kheralu and will be reversed as 605 Taranga hill-Mahesana, ex- Kheralu to Mahesana.
