Rajkot, July 10 (UNI) A married woman here has lodged a complaint with the police against her husband and in-laws alleging that the latter were compelling her to give to the indecent proposals by a religious head.

Ripal Lodhiya has filed a complaint against her husband Vimal, father-in-law Jayantilal, mother-in-law Kusumben and a religious sect local chief Bavashri Vrajeshbava.

In her complaint, she alleged her husband and in-laws had asked her to concede to the idecent proposals by Bavashri, but she had refused. Following this, she was driven out of the house.

The woman has said in her complaint that her in-laws are staunch followers of the sect and often visit the religious chief of the sect in Laxmivadi Haveli for his blessings.

The woman has alleged that Bavashri had asked her to meet him alone but she had refused. Following her refusal, Bavashri had even threatened her, the woman has said in her complaint.

Ripal and Vimal were married in 2001 and have one child. But, following her refusal to give in to the wishes of Bavashri, her husband had divorced her without her consent, she said in the complaint.

Meanwhile, Bavashri has denied the allegation and claimed he had never asked the woman to meet him alone. ''She is like my daughter, how can I make such an indecent proposal?'' he said. The police have registered the complaint under sections 506(2), 509 and 114 of the Indian Penal Code.
