Wakf Board properties list to be displayed: Chairman
Tiruchirapalli, July 10 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Wakf Board will display the list of Wakf Board properties on the notice boards at every Mosque, Dargah and Thaika across the state to enable the Muslim community know the exact details of the properties.
Wakf Board Chairman S Hyder Ali told newspersons that the Board was in the process of sending instructions to the concerned authorities in this regard.
The existing Website of the Board .Tnwakfboard.Org would be revamped and marked with current information in both Tamil and English languages.
To a query, he said the Wakf Board was collecting the details of encroached properties across the state and had registered 943 cases, so far. Of this, 38 cases were to be dealt by the Revenue Divisional Officers (RDOs) and were being retrieved by revenue officials.
He said the Board owned a total of 34,000 acres of land out of this 24,68,558 sqft of land was occcupied by some encroachers, most of them individuals. The state government had also ordered a separate survey for the Board's property.
The new computerised office for the Board would be launched at Chennai soon, he added.
