VBEU and VBTU charges VC for irregular appoinments

Santiniketan, July 10 (UNI) Viswa Bharati Employees Union (VBEU) and Teachers Union (VBTU) today charged the Vice Chancellor of Viswa Bharati University Rajat Kanti Roy with nepotism for conducting irregularites in the appointment of three top educationists in the institution.

The VBEU and VBTU in a joint written petition to Viswa Bharati Executive Council alleged that the Mr Roy had made irregularities in appointing the Director, Registrar, and the Rabindra Professor of the institution.

They alleged that Registrar Dr Bivash Jha and Director Dr Swapan Majumdar have been appointed without having appeared in the interview organised by the institution.

Besides, the appointment of Jamia Milia University's history reader A Sen's appointment as Rabindra Professor was also illegal, they added.
