State to provide adequate security to Alamatti Reservoir

Bangalore, July 10 (UNI) The Karnataka Government will take suitable measures to step-up the security arrangements to Alamatti reservoir built across the Krishna river, Karnataka Legislative Council was informed here today.

Replying to the issue raised by BJP's Mr Aravinda Limbavali, Minister for Civil Supplies Gopvinda Karajol has said the state govenrment will take measures to provide similar kind of security which was provided to Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) in Mandya district. ''There is no question of remaining complacent on such threats'' he added.

Earlier, Mr Limbavali brought to the attention of the house that recently some unknown persons were seen taking photographs of the Alamatti reservoir and its regulating system around the dam. The dam was not provided sufficient security which it deserved, he added.
