SSO opposes laying of foundation stone for Haj House

Jamshedpur, July 10 (UNI) The Secular Social Organisation(SSO) today opposed the proposed laying of foundation stone for a Haj House at Kadru in Ranchi on July 12 by Chief Minister Madhu Koda and urged the muslims to boycott the programme.

Talking to media persons here SSO national president and general secretary of minority cell of JMM Nasar Firdausi said the proposed programme was an 'eye wash' to appease the minority community as neither clearence from the Welfare Ministry nor any drawing was obtained for construction of the Haj House.

Dr Firdausi alleged that the governmet hatched a political ploy and it was nothing but ditching the minority community. ''We are not against construction of Haj House but it should be done in a proper way. Laying the mere foundation stone would not serve the purspose,'' Dr Firdausi said.

He said constitution of Waqf Board for the muslims, formation of Urdu academy,financial corporation for the minority and Madrasa Board should be given more importance than laying the foundation stone for the Haj House. He said if the Waqf Board was not formed who would look after the proposed Haj House.

He said muslims from all over the state would sit on dharna and demonstrate by wearing black badges under the banner of SSO before the state Assembly if the government laid the foundation stone.

The JMM leader lamented that despite the change of guard in Ranchi, the present secular government failed to initiate any programme for the welfare of the minorities.
