Sensex continued above 15000 mark; gains 39 pts

Mumbai, July 10 (UNI) Backed by strong global markets coupled with higher expectations from quarterly performances by corporates, the 30-stock Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex gained further by 39.84 points and traded at 15,085.64 points around noon.

The S&P Cnx Nifty index at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) too advanced further by 6.75 points at 4426.15 points from the previous close.

Prominent shares driven the morning trend as well as the indices were included Tata Motor, Bajaj Auto, Satyam Computer, TCS, Infosys, Maruti, Bhel, Dr Reddy, Tisco and HDFC Bank, marketmen said.

Mirroring the better mood, the benchmark BSE Sensex opened at firm at 15100.13 points, went up to touch the high of 15114.95 points, before quoting to a low of 15,046.64 points. The Sensex currently being traded at 15,085.87 points.

Stocks from the old econony group such as Housing major HDFC, ITC, Reliance Communication, ACC, NTPC, Ambuja Cement and Reliance Energy were seen declining in profit booking in the morning trade, market sources said.

IT major Infosys rose 1.85 per cent to Rs 2,030, ahead of its results on Wednesday, 11 July 2007.

In the overseas markets,the Dow Jones industrials rose 38.29 points, to 13,649.97. Broader market indexes also moved higher. The Standard&Poor's 500 index rose 1.41 points, to 1,531.85, and the Nasdaq Composite index added 3.51 points, to 2,670.02.

Brent crude oil eased today after a seven-day rally lifted prices to their highest in 11 months. The easing of oil prices also aided the uptrend on the bourses worldwide, says marketmen.
