Retd Subedar killed by son over love affair

Barnala, July 10 (UNI) A man allgedlly killed his 65-year-old father with a sharp-edged weapon last night in Rudekekalan village of this district.

According to police, Retd Subedar Amarjit Singh used to object to his son's alleged illicit relationship with their farm labourer's wife and there was tension in the family over the matter.

Last night also there was a bitter argument between the two over the issue. Later, when Amarjit Singh went to his farm, Paramjit Singh allgedly killed him with 'kasia', a sharp-edged weapon.

In the morning, Paramjit Singh raised an alarm about his father's murder.

However, Gurmail Kaur, wife of the deceased, named her son Paramjit Singh as the prime suspect. After thorough probe, police recovered the weapon of murder.

It has arrested Paramjit and registered case against him under various sections.
