PMK demands Rangasamy to hold talks with Panchayat Presidents
Puducherry, July 10 (UNI) PMK Parliamentary Party Leader M Ramadass today demanded that Chief Minister N Rangasamy should hold talks with the Village Panchayat Presidents and persuade them to call off their proposed fast at Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu on July 12.
In a statement here, Prof Ramadass said the delay on the part of the government to resolve issues would put the alliance partners like PMK in an embarassing spot.
He said the fast by the Panchayat Presidents in another state would lower the dignity of the Union Territory and should be avoided.
The Village Panchayat Presidents had announced a day's fast at Sriperumbudur on July 12 to condemn the Puducherry administration's failure in devolving powers to the elected local body representatives even after one year of the civic polls.
