Pakistan to host international conference on Kashmir
Srinagar, July 10 (UNI) An international conference on Kashmir will be held at Islamabad in Pakistan on July 13 to mark the 76th anniversary of 'Martyrs Day'.
The conference, organised by Asian Media Link and Kashmir watch, has been titled ''Approaches Towards Resolution of Kashmir Issue''.
In a release here, the organisers said the conference would be held on July 13 to commemorate the ''supreme sacrifices of the people of Kashmir in 1931''.
''Dogra forces gunned down several people for raising their voice against the Maharaja and also for demanding freedom,'' they added.
The organisers said the focus of the conference would be current trends in Kashmir, UN recognition for right to self-determination, are positions of India and Pakistan tenable and finally ways and means to reach the goal, which is ''freedom''.
Noted legal, defence and media experts besides prominent leaders, from Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and several other countries have been invited to the conference.
