NBA says SC ruling is moral victory

Barwani, MP, July 10 (UNI) The Narmada Bachao Andolan today described as a ''moral victory'' the Supreme Court's dismissal of an NGO plea that accused the NBA and its supporters of treachery and other crimes besides demanding a CBI probe in its activities.

''Our agitation will be intensified. In 2005, the Ahmedabad-based National Council for Civil Liberties submitted the petition that also alleged unauthorised use of foreign funds and spreading violence,'' a NBA release issued here quoted its leader Medha Patkar as saying.

''The accusations proved baseless and the ruling defended democratic values. A satyagraha will be initiated here tomorrow and in Maharashtra's Chimalkhedion on July 17 in favour of land rights of villagers and against submergence,'' she told UNI
