Guwahati, Jul 10 (UNI) The Naga-Assam boundary dispute was temporarily resolved today with the lifting of the road blockade while Assam-Arunachal border tension surfaced in Sadiya region.

According to official sources the road blockade to Nagaland in the Mariani sector was withdrawn following a request by the North East Students Organisation(NESO).

Later All Assam Student Union(AASU) advisor Dr Samujjal Kumar Bhattacharyya also made a similar statement.

''We have asked the Sibsagar district of the AASU to withdraw the road blockade and they have accepted our request. This was done purely on humanitarian ground. But we are insisting that culprits must be brought to book,'' said Dr Bhattacharrya.

The district administration of Sibsagar and Jorhat have also confirmed that road blockade had been withdrawn and vehicles had started moving after four days of blockade which begun after Naga miscreants attacked Assam's two villages near Geleki, killing two personnel.

This resulted in widespread protest wih students stopping the supply chain to Mon and Mokuckchang districts forcing the Naga authorities to demand intervention.

Meanwhile, fresh trouble erupted in Sadiya area of the North Eastern tip of the state where border clash surfaced with Arunachal Pradesh. The Adi people of the area observed a local bandh yesterday in Arunachal Pradesh. But this morning angry Adi youths ransacked nearby villages in Assam for not observing the bandh.

The district authorities tried to resolve the crisis by organising a peace meeting but Adi youths stormed into the meeting and fired with country-made gun injuring two persons.
