India-South Africa business conclave in Johannesburg

Mumbai, July 10 (UNI) Leaders of Indian industry such as Rahul Bajaj, V N Dhoot and the representatives of major corporate groups such as Tata and Reliance, will participate in the'India Calling Conclave', jointly organised by the Indian Merchants' Chamber (IMC) and Business Unity South Africa (BUSA), to be held at Johannesburg rom August 1-3.

Addressing a news conference here today, IMC president Niraj Bajaj said at least 200 delegates from India were expected to participate in the event, which would enhance bilateral trade between both the countries from the current level of Rs 4 billion to Rs 15 billion in the next few years.

The conclave, which is the fourth such event, after the IMC had earlier organised similar at Dubai, London and Singapore in the recent past aimed at creating unique opportunity for networking with around 500 delegates from India, South Africa and other parts of Africa.

The IMC and BUSA have identified the target sectors such as auto, minining, diamods, IT, bio-technology, agriculture, pharma, infrastructure, energy and healthcare, in order to create trade opportunities for both the sides, Mr Bajaj said.

The IMCs Ladies Wing has also organised 'Call Of the Peacock 2007' an international exhibition on August 3 and 4 at the Sandton Convention Centre, in which more than 40 Indian women entrepreneurs would be displaying a wide range of products such as designer garments, precious and semiprecious jewellery, fashion accessories and gift items, Mrs Minal Bajaj, president of Ladies Wing of the IMC said.
