HC dismisses Raghavan's appeal on coop society election
Kochi, July 10 (UNI) A Division Bench of Kerala High Court today dismissed an appeal filed by former minister and Pariyaram Hospital Society Chairman M V Raghavan seeking appointment of a returning officer for conducting elections to the cooperative society.
The Division Bench comprising Justice K S Radhakrishnan and Justice Antony Dominique observed that the managing committee had passed the resolution to elect 17 members in violation of the Kerala Co-opearative Societies Act, which stipulated only 15.
The Court further said the managing committee of the society could pass fresh resolution requesting the Registrar of the Co-opearative Society to appoint a returning officer to conduct election to the managing committee of the society in accordance with the law.
