Gang kidnap arecanut-laden truck

Sirsi, July 10 (UNI) A gang of unidentified men today kidnapped a truck carrying arecanut near Tadas.

Police said the container, carrying about 14 tonne of arecanut, was kdnapped while it was going to Belgaum.

The cost of the consignment was over Rs 15 lakh.

The kidnappers assaulted both the driver and cleaner before eloping with the truck.

Efforts were on to trace the truck and the kidnappers, police added.
