DAVSSS-8 rout Lahore Schools XI

Chandigarh, July 10 (UNI) DAV Senior Secondary School-8 XI beat Lahore Schools XI by seven wickets for their fourth successive win in the five-match series in the Indo-Pak Brotherhood Cup here today.

Chasing a target of 180 for victory, DAVSSS-8 achieved their target in 29.3 overs by scoring 180 for 3.

The highlight of their innings was a century (113) partnership for the second wicket between opener Harpreet (35, 4x4s) and Shyam Pathania (58, 7x4s).

Later, an unbeaten 58-run association between Vipul Chadha (32, 3x4s) and Avinash (27, 2x4s) steered DAVSSS-8 to comfortable seven-wicket victory.

Adil was the most successful bowler for Lahore Schools by taking two wickets for 42 runs.

Earlier, Lahore Schools XI were all out for 179 in 33.5 overs. Arshad, who came at the fall of opener Zeeshan (20) with scoreboard reading 58, waged a single-handed battle to top score with an authoritative 73 off 70 balls.

He ran out of partners and their innings folded at 179. Opener Shahrukh contributed 39 with the help of four fours. Anirudh (3 for 36) and Vipul Chadha (3 for 31) restricted Lahore Schools' total.

Vipul Chadha was declared Man of the Match.
