Chennai, July 9 (UNI) The United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA) would come out with its stand on the Presidential election in a couple of days, AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa said today.

Talking to newspersons at the party headquarters here, she said, ''we will announce our stand in a few days after a meeting at Indian National Lok Dal leader Om Prakash Choutala's residence in Delhi.'' She said Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh had met her on July seven and discussed about the President and Vice President elections.

''We have decided to announce the Front's stand after the meeting at Choutala's residence,'' she added.

The proposed meeting is the Front's fifth meeting after its leaders met for the first time in Allahabad at the Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav's residence, she said.

After this, the second meeting was hosted by Telugu Desam Party leader N Chandrababu Naidu, the third by her in Chennai and the fourth by Mr Amar Singh in Delhi, she added.

Asked whether the BJP led NDA had offered the Vice President Post to the Front if it supported its candidate Bairon Singh Shekhawat contesting as an independent, Ms Jayalalithaa said ''no such proposal has been made.'' UNI WS VV RR PM2041
