Pooja Chauhan case: State Women's Commission team visits Rajkot
Rajkot, July 9 (UNI) A four-member State Women's Commission team visited Rajkot yesterday to ascertain details of the Pooja Chauhan case.
A 22-year-old Pooja Chauhan had paraded semi nude on the streets of the city on June 3 to protest the alleged failure by the police to take cognisance of her complaints against her husband and in-laws.
The four-member team visited the police commissioner's office yesterday. The team later met Pooja's mother-in-law Hansaba who told the Commission members that it was Pooja who was harassing her.
The team, thereafter, visited the Gandhigram police station where Pooja had lodged a complaint.
However, the Commission members could not meet Pooja as she was reported missing and her whereabouts are not known.
Tomorrow, a Central team is likely to come to Rajkot to ascertain facts in the case, official sources said.
