PM's Jammu visit cancelled due to state mourning for Chandra Shekhar

New Delhi, July 9 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit to Jammu tomorrow has been cancelled in view of the seven-day state mourning following the death of Premier Chandra Shekhar, official sources said today.

The sources said Dr Singh will not leave for Jammu tomorrow as scheduled due to the state mourning.

The Jammu University was going to confer an honorary Doctor of Letters on the Prime Minister at an impressive function, to be attended among others by Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and Governor S K Sinha.
