Oscar Fernandes to visit Nagaland today

Kohima, July 9: Union Labour and Employment Minister Oscar Fernandes is arriving at Dimapur today by helicopter from Arunachal Pradesh.

According to Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) sources Mr Fernandes will arrive at Dimapur airport and from there he will go to the Chumukedima Police Complex at Chumukedima, near Dimapur.

He will meet the party functionaries at Dimapur at 0900 hours tomorlrow before leaving for Kohima where he will arrive by the afternoon.

He is likely to meet Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio to discuss about political situation in the state.

Sources said that Fernandes is presently on a tour to the North Eastern states to campaign for the UPA-Left parties sponsored Presidential candidate Pratibha Patil and his purpose of visit to Nagaland is to woo to regional parties to vote for Mrs Patil.
