Bangalore, July 9 (UNI) The Indian doctor Mohammed Haneef, detained in Australia, in connection with the botched attack on Glasgow Airport, was keeping fine and was in good health, the Indian High Commission officials informed the members of the doctor's family here today.

Speaking to UNI, Mohammed Shoaib, the younger brother of Haneef said the family members have appealed the officials of the Indian High Commission in Australia to facilitate telephonic talk with his elder brother.

The High Commission officials, today contacted Haneef's family members in Bangalore and communicated that the doctor was keeping well and co-operating with the investigation agencies in Australia.

While no word had came about the release, Haneef's mother claimed that her son was innocent and would come out clean and she was praying for his safe return.

About media reports that Australian police had sought more time for questioning Haneef, the family members said that they had no communication on this and depended on media reports.

It may be recalled that Haneef, working in Gold Coast Hospital in Australia was detained following instructions from United Kingdom police in connection with the foiled attack on Glosgow International Airport by terrorists. Haneef, who was coming to India to see his newly born daughter was said to be a relative of Kafeel and Sabeel brothers, arrested in England on charges of plotting Glasgow attack.

Kafeel who drove the blazing jeep is in a London hospital after suffering 90 per cent burns.

Karnataka Police who were investigating into the antecedents of the doctor trios, have already questioned the family members in Bangalore and recovered some documents relating to London plot from the house.

Karnataka Home minister Mr M P Prakash had confirmed that the family members of Kafeel had identified their son. The State Police also suspects that Haneef might have indirectly involved in the plot.

Haneef's family members had requested Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to help them speak to Haneef over telephone and also ensure his safe return.

Australian police were yet to frame any charges against the Indian doctor.
