Emergency landing of Singapore bound flight to save a woman

Kolkata, July 9 (UNI) A Singapore Airlines flight from London to Singapore made an emergency landing at the city airport here today to save an Indonesian pregnant woman, who was profusely bleeding, airport sources said.

The commander of the flight made an emergency landing at 1300 hours after the 32-year-old woman suffered huge bleeding on the flight to Singapore.

Emergency medicos of the Airport Authority of India (AAI) aided by a gynaecologist attended her and found that she was carrying a baby and needed a surgery to save her life.

The lady was rushed to a local private hospital where she had gone an abortion, airport sources added.

The flight with other passengers on board left the airport at 1520 hours.
