55 class I officers in vigilance net in Orissa
Bhubaneswar, Jul 09 (UNI) The Orissa Vigilance has registered cases against 55 Class I Officers during 2006, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik informed the state Assembly today.
In reply to a question of BJP's Bimbadhar Kuanar, Mr Patnaik said during 2006 288 cases were registered against 611 people belonging to different categories.
They included 55 Class I officers,68 Class II officers,223 Class III and 264 Class IV and other public servants.
The chief minister said out of these cases chargesheets had been submitted in 95 cases while seven cases had been returned as final report and 185 cases were pending for investigation.
Only one case,Mr Patnaik said, had been transferred to the CBI, Bhubaneswar for investigation.
During 2007 till June last,he said, 143 vigilance cases were registered against 270 people of which 17 belonged to Class I and 37 Class II status. The chargesheet, he said had been filed in only three cases while the rest 140 cases were pending for investigation.
