Woman lady died after being hit by car

New Delhi, July 8 (UNI) A 62-year-old woman was killed when a speeding car hit her in Mongolpuri area of North-West Delhi this morning.

A resident of 'G' Block Mongolpuri, Shaguni was hit by a Wagon-R at about 0930 hrs while she was crossing the road at 'B' Block red light, the police said.

The woman, who was with her son and daughter-in-law, died before medical help could be reached.

The driver, who was later arrested, immediately took a U-Turn towards Madhuban Chowk and sped away. He abandoned the car, a few hundred yards away, and fled.

The vehicle has been impounded and a case registered.
