VNIA holds 35th anniversary celebration

Anand, Jul 8 (UNI) Vithal Udyognagar Industries Association (VUIA) today held a function to mark the 35th anniversary of the association.

Speaking at the function, Chairman of Zydus Cadilla Pankaj Patel said Right to Information (RTI) Act is an important tool for the industry and can be used seeking an abolition of octroi system in Gujarat instead of resorting to strike.

He said leaders of industrial associations must think about the small industries before they give a strike call.

Association Chief Jayantibhai Patel said VUIA was formed in 1972 and till 1995, there were about 300 companies under it. In 2007, there were more than 800 companies. From here, machineries are exported to the US, Canada, Africa, he said adding that VUIA, spread over 260 hectares employs 13,000 people.
